Detailed Breakdown by School

How would students be impacted by the proposed 2020-2021 school year changes?
South Vienna Middle (7-8th grade)
South Vienna 7th and 8th grade students would move to Northeastern High School at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Seventh and 8th grade students would continue to ride the second route of the day, with 9-12th grade students. Seventh and 8th grade core classrooms would be clustered together in the current math wing (formerly preschool and kindergarten classrooms located at NEHS).
South Vienna Middle (6th grade)
Sixth grade students would remain at South Vienna Elementary School. South Vienna sixth grade students would now ride the first transportation route of the day, with PK-5 students.
Northeastern High School (9-12th grade)
Northeastern High School students (9th-12th grades) would remain at Northeastern High School. Some rooms would relocate to accommodate the addition of the 7th-8th grade section.
South Vienna Elementary (K-5th grade)
South Vienna Elementary students (K-5th grade) would remain at South Vienna Elementary. Classrooms in the northwest and west parts of the building would be emptied. Other classrooms may be moved to keep grade level classrooms together.
Preschool
Preschool classrooms at NEHS would move to elementary buildings. A preschool classroom serving the west side of the district would move to Rolling Hills Elementary with K-5th grades. A preschool classroom serving the east side of the district would move to South Vienna Elementary with K-6th grades.
Rolling Hills Elementary (PK-5th grade)
Rolling Hills Elementary would continue to serve preschool through 5th grade students. Rolling Hills Elementary students would continue to ride the first transportation route.
Northridge Elementary (K-5th grade)
Northridge Elementary would continue to serve kindergarten through 5th grade students. Northridge Elementary students would continue to ride the first transportation route.
Northridge Middle School (6-8th grade)
Northridge Middle School would continue to serve 6th-8th grade students. A special education middle school unit would move from South Vienna to Northridge School. Northridge 6th-8th grade students would continue to ride the second route of transportation with 9-12th graders.
Kenton Ridge High School (9-12th grade)
Kenton Ridge would continue to serve 9-12th grade students. High School students would continue to ride the second transportation route. A high school cross-categorical transition unit would move to Kenton Ridge High School from Northeastern High School.
Special Education 
At the start of the 2020-2021 school year, a middle school special education unit currently located at South Vienna Middle School would move to Northridge Middle School, and a high school cross-categorical transition unit would move to Kenton Ridge High School from Northeastern High School (a second high school cross-categorical transition unit would remain at NEHS). Other special education units would remain in their current locations.
