Joel Augustus, Board Vice President
Mr. Joel Augustus joined the Northeastern Local School District Board of Education in January of 2016. He is the Executive Vice President of Lifeline Christian Mission in Westerville. Mr. Augustus and his wife, Janny, have three children, Helen, Sara and Samuel.
Mr. Augustus has a Bachelor’s degree from Kentucky Christian University and a Master’s degree in Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University.
Mr. Augustus’ term expires on December 31, 2023.
Jill Parker, Board President
Jill Parker joined the Northeastern Local School District Board of Education in January of 2016. Mrs. Parker is a 1986 graduate of Shawnee High School and has previously worked as a medical assistant, a tax preparer, and a Realtor. An avid writer, she is currently working toward finishing her degree in Creative Writing.
Mrs. Parker and her husband, Tim, have three daughters who all graduated from Northeastern High School. All three are currently pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, two at the Ohio State University and one at Oklahoma University. The family recently celebrated the arrival of their first grandchild, a little girl born on January 8, 2020 in Tulsa.
Mrs. Parker’s term expires on December 31, 2023.
Steve Schwitzgable, Board Member
Mr. Steve Schwitzgable joined the Northeastern Local School District Board of Education in January of 2016. A retired educator, he taught first and second grades at South Vienna Elementary for 35 years. Mr. Schwitzgable also coached football, basketball, track and cross country throughout his career at South Vienna and Northeastern High School.
Mr. Schwitzgable and his wife Linda, who taught kindergarten at South Vienna for 30 years, have two sons, Kevin and Mark, both graduates of Northeastern High School. Kevin graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in accounting, and Mark graduated with a sports management degree from Ohio University.
Mr. Schwitzgable graduated from Wittenberg University with a Bachelor’s degree in education, and earned a Master’s of Educational Leadership degree from Wright State University. He has coached youth sports leagues and volunteers at his church, and is a past President and Bargaining Chairman of the Northeastern Local Teacher’s Association.
Mr. Schwitzgable’s term expires on December 31, 2021.
John Crankshaw, Board Member
Dr. John Crankshaw, M.D, joined the Northeastern Local School District Board of Education in January of 2018. He is a physician at Memorial Primary Care in Urbana and is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
Dr. Crankshaw and his wife, Kristin, have two children, Claire and Connor, who attend Northeastern Local Schools. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and received a Doctorate of Medicine at The Ohio State University School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Crankshaw has coached soccer for National Trails and currently coaches for Springfield Thunder Soccer Club. He was the Vice President of the Rolling Hills Elementary PTO for four years, and previously served as the levy chair for the Northeastern Local School District Levy Committee for three years. Dr. Crankshaw and his son and daughter play the saxophone, and he is a member of the West Central Ohio Community Concert Band.

Jeff Yinger, Board Member
Mr. Jeff Yinger joined the Northeastern Local School District Board of Education in January of 2018. He is the Municipal Industrial Pretreatment Coordinator for the City of Springfield, Ohio, since 2010, and previously worked for 18 years as a Lab Technician for the City of Springfield, Ohio, and is a past owner of Unified Laboratories.
Mr. Yinger and his wife of 29 years, Tammy, have three children: Mandalyn (a 2013 graduate of NEHS and a 2017 graduate of Ohio University), Jeff, Jr. (a 2016 graduate of NEHS, currently attending Clark State) and Annika (a 2018 GISA graduate, currently attending Heidelberg University). He attended Wright State University, where he studied Biology, and is currently an Honor student attending Hocking College, studying Water and Wastewater Management.
Mr. Yinger has served as a Northeastern Band Parents Association Officer, a secretary and trustee of the board of his church, and started several non-profit organizations.
