I.
General Guidelines for Golden Wing Award Nominations: a.
The intent of the award is to recognize “extraordinary”
contributions to Northeastern High School specifically those done without
monetary reward, public recognition or personal gain. b.
Staff members are not specifically excluded from consideration, but
their service should be clearly beyond normal employment expectations. c.
The following characteristics, in themselves, should NOT be
considered as justification for the award: 1.
Monetary contributions given while children are currently enrolled
at Northeastern High School 2.
Longevity of staff service, i.e.
at time of retirement 3.
coaching accomplishments (records, championships, longevity) 4.
Memorials (posthumous award unless the individual’s contributions
merit the award regardless of their death) d.
An
award is not mandated each year e.
Deadline
for nomination for current year selection is the Friday prior to Labor
Day. Nominations will be kept
on file for 5 years. Nominations can be submitted
via the web site or by letter. Letters
should be sent to the Student Government Advisor.
