MAKE-UP WORK

Any student in legal (excused) absence from school will be granted the opportunity to make up work missed and receive credit. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain the make-up assignments and, in the case of illness, to hand them in within a period of time upon return to school which equals the number of days absent plus one. This rule may not apply to missed tests or exams; students should return prepared to make up tests or exams. Students who have been found to be truant or unexcused absent may receive missed assignments, but WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THEM.

TARDY POLICY FOR NORTHEASTERN HIGH SCHOOL

AS  PER NINE WEEKS

1.        Your third tardy will result in one detention.

2.        Your fourth tardy will result in two detentions.

3.        Your fifth tardy will result in three detentions and the office will call you in and warn you.

4.        Your sixth tardy and any thereafter will be a referral to the office for more serious punishment.  Example: I.L.P. or suspension.

SUMMARY:         1 = Warning

                                2 = Warning

                                3 = Detention

                                4 = 2 Detentions

                                5 = 3 Detentions + Warning by Office

                                6 = Office Referral for additional discipline

The administrator will determine detention dates and times.  You will be given 24 hours notice so you can adjust your personal and work schedule.  Very few exceptions will be made.  You must contact the office before the fact.  Example: doctor’s appointment, funeral, court appointment, or a major family problem.  The absence of a ride will not excuse you from your obligation.  You have 24 hours to make arrangements, attend assigned detention, or face more serious punishment.  Example: multiple detentions, I.L.P., 24-hour suspension, or 3-day suspension.  Be where you are supposed to be ON TIME.

Class periods skipped will result in the assignment of I.L.P per class up to 3 classes.  After that, you are truant for the day.

If you are truant, you will be given zero’s (0’s) in all your classes and be assigned two days of I.L.P.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Daily announcements will be made at a designated time during the day.  Additional announcements may be given over the intercom when needed or at the close of the school day.  Students have a responsibility to each other to be quiet during announcements since they are made for individuals as well as the entire student body.  All announcements should be cleared through the Principal or the Principal’s designee.
