Two staff members will be retiring at the end of the 2007/08 school year.  We would like to thank Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Hickinbotham for all of their hard work and dedication throughout their years at Northeastern Local School District.

I had asked our retirees to tell us of the new and different challenges that lie ahead for their future.

Mrs. Fox

“I am going to miss the students and staff terribly.  But, I will get to spend more time with my seven grandchildren and play lots of golf with Mr. Fox. ”

Mrs. Hickinbotham

“This summer will be filled with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  We will be traveling to Maryland, Indiana, and Texas.  Meeting friends for lunch and shopping.  Also, catching up on sewing projects and enjoying life in general.”

Right to Read Day was Friday, May 9th.  The 2008 theme was “Summertime Reading”.  During the day we had many activities for teachers to use in the classroom.

Kindergarten screening and assessment will be held at Northridge Elementary School.  It will be held on Friday, August 8th from 8-3:00.  Students will be given the state mandated KRA-L, DIBELS, Vision, and Hearing Assessments.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Northridge Elementary at 342-4627.

The Ohio Performing Arts Institute performed for our Elementary on May 9th.  The students enjoyed watching the different types of upbeat music selections, songs, and dances throughout the program.
