March 31, 2008 Dear Rolling Hills Families, It’s time to put away the snow shovels and prepare for spring and flowers. We would like to continue our Student/Family Gardening program and start it off by getting flower beds ready for planting and collecting money for materials for students to use. On Saturday, April 26 families will gather to weed and prepare the beds for the students to plant. This is a very big project. We need parents (families) to come to school on Saturday, April 26 from 9:00 - 11:30 to trim back, edge, mulch and weed. Please bring garden tools (weeders, shovels, pruning sheers, trash bags, etc.) and lots of help. The pear trees have never been pruned, and it would be helpful to have assistance from someone who has experience in trimming flowering trees. We are very proud of how beautiful the Rolling Hills grounds have become and would like to be able to continue this project. Lastly, parents are needed to water and weed beds during the summer. We have hose carts and soaker hoses that make the job easier, but we need people to maintain the beds during the summer. Please consider volunteering to keep a bed weeded and watered over the summer months. Please complete the survey below and let us know when and how you could help. Check all that apply to you and return the bottom to school for Mrs. White by Friday, April 18 or email me at katheywhite@nelsd.org. Sincerely,
Mrs. Kathey White """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
