Invention Convention 2008

For the second year in a row, the 4th graders at Rolling Hills participated in the annual Invention Convention!  Invention Convention gives students the opportunity to use their creative thinking skills to create an invention or product that solves a problem.  It is an exciting opportunity that any student is able to take part in.  Here at Rolling Hills we choose to take part in this program because it is not only a wonderful learning experience for students, but it also goes along with the academic content standards for the state of Ohio.

The winner of the 2007-08 Invention Convention at Rolling Hills was  Kirsten Little.  She invented a new way to carry medications needed  for people with Diabetes.  The name of the invention was the Diabetic  Design.  Kirsten will now move on to Regionals which will be held at  Wright State University in the Student Union on Saturday, March 8,  2008 at 10 am.

This year's runners-up were Angie Distl and Sarah Henry.  As a team,  the girls invented a new way to get ready in the morning called The  Outfit Winner.  It is a new design to hang an entire outfit on one  hanger including the shoes!

Other participants in this year's convention were Bailie Frazier,  Jordan Lemmings, Hannah Rastatter, Kaitlyn Roberts, and Jeff Yinger.   All of the students involved did an outstanding job creating new  inventions.

Thank you to everyone that took part in this wonderful  experience.
