Students, please check your Kenton Ridge email as guidance has sent emails regarding scheduling to some students. Guidance would like to get as many scheduling issues resolved as possible before Friday, August 12.
Important information for college credit plus students taking CCP courses other than those offered at Kenton Ridge need to bring their college schedule to the guidance office on Thursday, August 11, between 8 am and 3 pm. Your KR schedule will be adjusted and will remain in place for the year.
Other schedule adjustments will be considered as well on August 11 in the guidance office between 8 am and 3 pm. Please bring a note, with parent signature, indicating the change being requested.
Welcome Students and Parents
Dear Parents, Students and Community,
As principal of Kenton Ridge High School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year. We are excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every student feel welcomed and connected to the Kenton Ridge family. We challenge each of our students to grow academically in order to be college and workforce ready by the end of four years. At Kenton Ridge we have outstanding teachers and staff who spend a great deal of time planning and creating an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to learning. Our teachers utilize research-based best practices through analyzing academic data to determine current skill level and set goals for growth and improvement. We believe all students should graduate from Kenton Ridge with the skills to meet the demands of postsecondary education, meaningful careers and effective citizenship.
While the teaching and learning is our main focus, school is much more than books and results. We pride ourselves on the extra-curricular opportunities we provide for our students and are lucky to have so many staff members who give freely of their time for the betterment of the students. Please encourage your son/daughter to get involved in whatever capacity they can. Involvement in these activities can improve student’s mental health, physical wellbeing, team building, and work ethic and enhances teacher/student relationships.
At Kenton Ridge High School student success is the goal of every staff member. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your student’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our student’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your student’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college or a successful career
I am honored to serve as principal of Kenton Ridge High school. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.
Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another great year at Kenton Ridge High School, together!
Sincerely, John R. Hill
