Teaching and Learning at Northeastern Local Schools

At Northeastern Local Schools, building and district staff work collaboratively to oversee the instruction of our students.  The curriculum is aligned with Ohio's Learning Standards, and paced in consideration with state testing expectations.
In order to provide our students the best educational experience, the administrative team reviews annual district and building report cards.  Throughout the year, data is collected and analyzed to drive important curriculum decisions.  It is our priority to provide support and resources that meet all students' instructional needs.

Mathematics Curriculum Update

NELSD is in it's third year of implementing our math programs from McGraw-Hill Education.  My Math has been implemented at our elementary schools and Glencoe Math is being used at the middle and high school levels.  As we learn more about the program every year, please remember the numerous tools and resources that are available to teachers, students, and families through the online ConnectED platform.  Professional development videos offer a quick start or full implementation course that can be used to review resources that were covered in previous PD sessions.  Interactive presentations are fully-prepared and ready to use for each K-12 lesson!  Tutor videos and eHelp can be accessed by students and families at home to review concepts and assist with homework.  Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] if you have any questions, concerns, or problems with the math programs.

English Language Arts Curriculum Update

NELSD is in it's second year of implementing our ELA curriculum.  Our KG - 5th grade teachers are using resources from McGraw Hill as part of their Reading Wonders program.  From grades 6-12, our teachers are using a program called StudySync.  Both programs have resources that have online components to them.  Students, parents, and teachers have access to these online resources through their ConnectEd account.  For more information about ELA and to find other helpful resources, please click the "English Language Arts Resources" link on the right.
