Frequently Asked Questions

No. Ohio’s school funding system already limits how much revenue districts receive when property values increase. Schools cannot raise tax rates on their own, and funding is tied to voter-approved levies and state law. The recent legislation adds another layer of restriction on top of those existing limits.

While final decisions have not been made, reductions of this size typically affect:

  • Staffing levels
  • Program expansion (this includes facility enhancements)
  • Support services
  • Our priority will always be protecting classroom instruction as much as possible.

We are:

  • Closely monitoring state guidance
  • Adjusting long-term financial forecasts
  • Planning carefully for the 2026-2027 school year by reducing costs wherever possible without impacting student services. When positions become available through attrition (retirements and resignations), we're carefully evaluating whether they need to be filled or if we can redistribute those responsibilities. For example, two administrators in our district office are retiring—our Assistant Superintendent and Director of Student Services. Instead of replacing both positions, we've created a curriculum coordinator role to handle some of those duties and reassigned other responsibilities among existing staff.
