The NELSD Transportation Department Staff is dedicated to providing our students, staff and community

with the safest, most efficient school transportation possible.

The NELSD is committed to providing the most up-to-date school bus technology possible for their fleet.

Our school bus drivers undergo stringent Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal background checks as well as satisfactory semi-annual Ohio BMV driving background checks.

All drivers receive training and updates regarding transportation rules and regulations as well as other

related topics on an ongoing basis during the school year.

2022-23 BUS ROUTES

Below are links to our bus routes for the 2022-23 school year. Please note these routes will be updated as transportation requests for busing are received through FinalForms. Route times are estimates and may change after the route has been run a few times. If your child(ren)'s route is not listed yet, please check back.  We are continuing to post updated information.

Starting on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, any students attending Global Impact Stem Academy (GISA), Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC), or Catholic Central, whose homeschool is Northeastern High School, and need transportation must be transported by their parent/guardian to the new Northeastern PK-12 Campus.

Students must arrive by 7:15 a.m., and the bus leaves promptly at 7:20 a.m. Bus 23 will be parked in the first space in the side bus parking lot/hardscape playground area to the right of the new building if you enter from the back on Ritchie Drive.

Parents/guardians should pick their students up from the new Northeastern PK-12 campus at 3:15 p.m. unless they have practice. Starting Tuesday, Aug. 30th, students who practice at the old Northeastern High School (Northeastern Athletic Campus) after school will be transported by bus to the Athletic Campus.

For students whose homeschool is Kenton Ridge High School but who are attending Global Impact Stem Academy (GISA), Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC), or Catholic Central and need transportation, Bus 17 will have a student pick-up located at Northridge Elementary/Middle School in the mornings.  Students must arrive by 7:05 a.m., and the bus will leave promptly at 7:10 a.m. For students who are not in the walking area, you will still be picked up at your residence.

In the afternoons, parents/guardians should pick their students up from Kenton Ridge High School at 3:30 p.m.

If you have any questions, please contact our transportation department at (937) 328-6562 or email Mr. Andy McClain at

NELSD Continues to Update Fleet

The Northeastern Local School District has strengthened their commitment to cleaner air by continuing to replace our aging fleet with new buses featuring "Clean Diesel" technology reducing the amount of air contaminants in the engine exhaust.

The EPA estimates a reduction of 58.8 pounds of fine particulate pollutants (soot), a 897.6 pound reduction of carbon monoxide, and a 288.2 pound reduction of hydrocarbons over the older diesel technology. This will result in a 54% reduction of the pollutants from the older buses.

The district intends to continue it's efforts to purchase additional buses with pollution reducing technology.
