A Note From Mr. Adkins
Welcome to the School Counseling page for Northeastern Middle School!!
I am extremely proud and excited to be the school counselor here at Northeastern Middle School. I am beginning my 19th year in education. My first year was at Catholic Central and I spent 13 years teaching Spanish at Northeastern (and SVMS), and am entering my 6th year as school counselor here at NEMS and SVES.
I will work alongside the teachers, parents and administration to meet the needs of our students. Middle School can be a very challenging time for teens, so I want the students to know that I am here to help them through ANY and ALL situations. No problem is too big and no problem is too small. We can work through things together.
I will provide various services to our students: individual counseling, small group counseling, career guidance, and classroom guidance. The classroom guidance will give me the chance to explore topics with our students. Some of the possible topics are: character education, manners, drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, suicide, bullying, shoplifting, inhalants, and any other topic teens can be going through.
In my opinion, parents are the best person a teen can talk to with their problems. Sometimes, students need extra help with things. I am here to assist the student and parent in any way possible. I may not have every answer, but we will work together to find the best answer.
I am here to help our students; however, there will be times where I will be in a meeting, teaching a lesson, working with parents or teachers, and I will not be available. You can email me (
[email protected]) or you can leave me a voice mail (937-328-6575 extension 1506).
I am so excited to work with you this school year. Northeastern Middle School is a wonderful place. Feel free to stop by and introduce yourself.
