Bigham Soars to New Heights as Assistant Principal of Northeastern Middle & High School

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, July 9, 2024—Northeastern Local School District (NELSD) is proud to announce the selection of Mrs. Bethany Bigham as the new Assistant Principal of Northeastern Middle & High School at the Regular Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, effective for the 2024-25 school year.

No stranger to the Northeastern community, Bigham brings a wealth of professional experience and educational achievements with her in this new role. Since 2015, she's soared as a dedicated educator, first at Northeastern Elementary and then at the Middle School, where she championed student success in Language Arts, nurtured young writers through the Power of the Pen program, and championed a spirit of service through student activities.

"I am deeply honored and grateful for this opportunity to serve the Northeastern Local School District community in a greater capacity,” said Mrs. Beth Bigham. “Throughout my career, my goal has always been to positively impact the students' lives, and I am thrilled that this new role will allow me to further contribute to the growth and success of our students at a broader level."

Bigham's commitment extends beyond the classroom. She actively contributed to committees shaping the new school playground, revamped grade cards, and participated in leadership development programs. She has also trained at Smekens Education conferences, participated in the Teacher Leadership Academy, and served on the Middle School Site Review committee.

Bigham's passion for education and proven leadership skills propelled her to this exciting new role. “We are truly fortunate to have Mrs. Bigham join our leadership team as the new Assistant Principal, said Mr. Zack Dobbelaere, Northeastern Middle & High School Principal. “Her extensive experience, dedication, and ability to inspire students and fellow educators make her an ideal fit for this role. Her leadership will greatly enhance our school community as we work together to provide our students the best education and environment.”

Prior to joining NELSD, Bigham served as a substitute teacher at South Vienna Elementary School and Cedar Cliff Local Schools. She began her teaching career at Northstar Christian Academy in 1998.

Bigham holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Education focusing on Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, and most recently earned her principal licensure from the University of Cincinnati.

Bigham resides in Cedarville, Ohio, with her husband, Bill. Together, they take great pride in their four children—two boys and two girls as well as their soon-to-be-son-in-law. As avid supporters of their children’s activities, the Bigham family cherishes spending their free time at cross country meets, eagerly anticipating the start of their twelfth and final season.
