District Statement Regarding Liberty Place Discussions

The Northeastern Local School District is aware of questions and discussions regarding student attendance boundaries in relation to the future Liberty Place housing development.

During recent Board of Education meetings, a community member raised questions and potential options regarding where students from the future Liberty Place development could attend school as the district plans for future enrollment. While these ideas were discussed during the public meetings, no proposal has been presented, and no decisions have been made as of yet by the Board regarding attendance boundaries or school assignments for students residing in the development.

We understand that this topic is important to our families and community and recognize that the public discussion has generated questions. At this time, any information suggesting that a decision has been made is inaccurate.

If the Board were to consider any future changes, those discussions would occur through the public Board process, with careful consideration given to enrollment, facilities, transportation, and the district's long-term needs. The district will continue to communicate openly with our families and community should any formal recommendations or proposals be brought forward for Board consideration.
