KRHS Swatting Incident 3.21.23

Dear NELSD Families,

Kenton Ridge High School is currently in a shelter-in-place after receiving a phone call that referred to a possible active shooter in our school. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded and is currently on location conducting an investigation, and has confirmed that it was a swatting incident.

We ask that parents and guardians do not show up at the school as this may impede law enforcement from being able to complete their investigation.

Swatting incidents⸺threats made to schools with the purpose of triggering a response by police and first responders⸺instill fear and panic throughout school communities, and disrupt first responder agencies. These incidents can be traumatic for everyone involved and cause anxiety for our families, students, staff and community.

Please know the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priority. We take all reports of potential threats seriously and make every effort to ensure students and staff feel safe.

We encourage our students and school community to report anything that could constitute a threat to school safety by calling (937) 568-7117 and selecting option 7 or by clicking here to access our Harassment, Intimidation, Bullying and Title IX Online Referral form.

Thank you for your attention to this important update.

Sincerely,

John Kronour
Superintendent
