Question: Why were you interested in being an intern for the NELSD Communications Department?
Answer: I am interested in being an intern for the NELSD Communications Department because I love being involved in my community. Being a leader and organizing projects is something I truly enjoy. I am so incredibly inspired by so many people at Northeastern, and becoming an intern will help me highlight all the good our community does!
Question: What activities are you involved with/what leadership positions do you hold?
Answer: I am involved in numerous activities at Northeastern, along with holding many leadership positions. I am a Varsity High School Cheerleader, cheering for our football, basketball, and competition teams! I am involved in Tennis as well! I am the secretary of our beloved Northeastern FFA and of the National Honors Society. I hold the position of treasurer for Northeastern Leo Club and Student Government. I am also involved in my school's Spanish and Diversity Club!
Question: What's one surprising or interesting thing you've already learned as a communications intern that you didn't expect when you started?
Answer: I have learned a lot about how much good Kenton Ridge does. Even though we are a small but mighty district, I don't hear much about all KR does. Becoming an intern, I have read about all the good KR does for their school and community!
Question: As a high school intern, you balance your internship with your academic life. What's your secret to managing time effectively and staying on top of your responsibilities?
Answer: Throughout High School, I have been involved in numerous clubs, advanced courses, and college classes. I am no stranger to the stress of academics and maintaining other responsibilities such as Varsity athletics or an internship. My secret to managing my time effectively and staying on top of my assignments is having a planner and strong self-discipline to do assignments when you have time. At the beginning of my day, I map out everything I need to do that day. I plan where in my day I can do these assignments, and I do them during my free periods or study halls. Another thing I do is as soon as I hear a due date for an assignment or a date for a test, I put it in my planner so I don't forget.
Question: If you could choose a fictional character to represent your personality, who would it be and why?
Answer: If I could choose a fictional character to represent my personality, It would be Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls. Bubbles is a childhood favorite of mine, as my twin Abby and I would always watch the show together. Bubbles is a bubbly and friendly girl who is always willing to help no matter when and where. She always finds the bright side of any bad situation.
Question: Share a quirky or surprising talent or skill that most people wouldn't know about you.
Answer: A quirky or surprising talent or skill that most people wouldn't know about me is that I can name any Taylor Swift song after hearing the first 5 seconds of the song. Throughout my childhood, Taylor Swift was a staple in my household. As a result, I know almost every song by heart.
Question: What's your go-to comfort food, and where is your favorite place to enjoy it in our community?
Answer: My go-to comfort food is any breakfast food! I love going to Chick-fil-A during their breakfast to get their chicken minis!
Question: What other fun fact would you like to share about yourself with our community?
Answer: I am a twin! My twin Abby and I are fraternal and are completely different in almost every way! I am an extrovert and a social butterfly, as my twin is an introvert and would rather stay at home and read than go out. I am very active, and I love going out; my sister is incredibly musically gifted and thrives in the arts!
