NEHS Blood Drive Thursday, Nov. 20th from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., see Mrs. Whip for details

Northeastern High School will host its annual blood drive on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, in the school gymnasium. The event, organized in partnership with Versiti, is open to students and staff ages 16 and older. Those interested can see Mrs. Whip for more information.

Student Council Advisor Mrs. Whip works with student council members and officers to organize the yearly event. I love  doing the blood drive because so much of the blood that goes into Clark County comes from local high schools, as much as 20%.” Mrs. Whip said. “It's amazing to see students sacrifice for others. It teaches them empathy and pride in their actions.”

For students nervous about needles, Mrs. Whip offers reassurance.. “These nurses do this all day, every day, and so they make it incredibly easy,” she said. “There are snacks and juice to make you feel better afterwards, plus I'm there to hold hands and give hugs, and you will be proud of yourself!”

Students who can’t donate this time around, don't worry! There will be other opportunities throughout the year. Those who donate three times during their four years of high school at Northeastern will receive a special cord at graduation, recognizing their bravery and community service. So don’t miss out on your chance to make a difference and be recognized for it!
