Northeastern Local School District to Name Mr. Jack Fisher as New Superintendent

Springfield, Ohio, June 20, 2024—The Northeastern Local School District (NELSD) Board of Education will meet during a special session this evening (Thursday, June 20, 2024) at 5:30 p.m. to vote on the district’s next superintendent. Pending Board of Education approval, Mr. Jack Fisher will become superintendent effective August 1, 2024.

Mr. Fisher surfaced as the top candidate for the job based on his extensive background as a school leader, his proven ability to communicate with all stakeholders, his strong reputation of visibility throughout his district, and his clear passion for serving the students, staff, and community of NELSD. According to Board President Mr. Jeffrey Yinger, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Jack Fisher to our district. His impressive background and commitment to building strong connections with students, staff, and the community make him an excellent choice for Northeastern Local Schools. We look forward to collaborating with Mr. Fisher and benefiting from his passion for education and dedication to serving our community.”

Mr. Fisher is an experienced educational leader. He has served as a high school principal in Mt. Healthy, Finneytown, and Colerain. Prior to the superintendency, he also worked as the Director of Business and Academic Services in Finneytown and as Assistant Human Resource Director of Northwest Local Schools. Mr. Fisher currently serves as the superintendent of Lynchburg-Clay Local School District. Mr. Fisher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and Political Science from Miami University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Cincinnati.

Mr. Fisher and his wife, Mindy, are the proud parents of two children, Micah and Molly. Micah is married to Jackie and he works for Pac Basin Resources in Columbus. Molly is a special education teacher for New Albany-Plain Local Schools, also in the Columbus area. Mr. Fisher is also a proud grandfather to Ben, who turned one this past April.  

In Mr. Fisher’s words, “I am honored to be selected as the Superintendent for the Northeastern Local School District. I appreciate the Board’s diligence and integrity during the entire search process. I am anxious to get started in supporting all students and all staff in the district.”   

Mr. Fisher is excited to begin his transition as superintendent and plans to be visible in the district over the summer, prior to his official start date of August 1, 2024.
