Shining Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Aubree Kushmaul
Get to know Mrs. Aubree Kushmaul, this week’s Shining Staff Spotlight feature! Mrs. Kushmaul is in her first year as an assistant principal at Kenton Ridge Elementary School (KRES), and she’s doing a fantastic job. Mr. Synder, one of Mrs. Kushmaul’s colleagues, praises her, saying, “She brings a great depth of knowledge. Her experience as an instructional coach is an invaluable resource, and we are very excited to have her on the team.” Mrs. Kushmaul’s contributions have already made her a wonderful addition to the Northeastern Local School District (NELSD) community!
Although Mrs. Kushmaul is new to NELSD as an administrator, she’s no stranger to the district. She’s a proud Northeastern High School alumna, graduating in 2006. She fondly remembers the spirited atmosphere of sporting events, pep rallies, and spirit week. Even more special, her time at Northeastern is where she met her husband, Trevor! After graduating from Northeastern, she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Wright State University. Continuing her academic journey, she completed the Principal Licensure Program at Wittenberg University. Now, she’s come full circle, serving as the assistant principal at KRES. Mrs. Kushmaul feels fortunate to be working at KRES, as she fondly remembers the connections she made with teachers, coaches, and staff during her time as a student.
Mrs. Kushmaul says her favorite part of the school day is morning duty, where she gets to greet students as they walk in, even on cold mornings! It’s a positive way to start her day. When she’s not busy at KRES, Mrs. Kushmaul's family keeps her on her toes! She and Mr. Kushmaul have two children, Charlie (11) and Case (six), both students at KRES. Their family also includes a dog, Jake. Together, they stay busy with fun activities. Mrs. Kushmaul grew up showing animals at the fair, a tradition she now shares with her children, helping them care for their own farm animals, especially during the hot summer months.
In the summer, she enjoys disc golfing, playing pickleball, camping, and engaging in many other fun activities. When she has a moment for herself, Mrs. Kushmaul enjoys unwinding with a good book while floating in the pool on a sunny day or listening to podcasts.
NELSD is incredibly lucky to have Mrs. Kusmaul! Her dedication to our students shines through in everything she does. Thank you, Mrs. Kushmaul, for making a difference in the lives of our students! We are so blessed to have you in our community.
