Shining Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Christa Sodders
For this week’s Shining Staff Spotlight, help us celebrate Mrs. Christa Sodders! She is an amazing intervention specialist at Kenton Ridge who always exceeds expectations for her students.
Mrs. Sodders, a Springfield native, has always remained close to her hometown roots. She pursued her education at Wittenberg University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Intervention Specialist. Her years of study and dedication reflect her passion for supporting young learners and making a difference in their lives.
She and her husband, George, have a long-lasting marriage of 39 years! Together, they have three daughters: Cassie, Ashley, and Stephanie. Mrs. Sodders is not the only person in her family at Kenton Ridge! Her two grandkids, William and Keegan, attend Kenton Ridge Elementary School (KRES). She is also a grandparent to seven animals! Her grand-dogs' names are Waylon, Rayna, Hank, Bella, and Grace. Her grand-cats are named Summer and Moo. Mrs. Sodders loves her family very much and enjoys getting to spend time with each and every one of them!
When Mrs. Sodders isn’t spending quality time with her family, you’ll likely find her baking, watching Lifetime or Hallmark movies, or shopping. While she’s always stayed close to her Springfield roots, she loves traveling and exploring new places. Her favorite adventure so far? A memorable trip to Paris with her stepdaughter, Lisa!
Mrs. Sodders is celebrating an incredible 10 years with the district! One of her favorite parts of her job is the students—she loves watching them grow, develop, and reach their full potential. Her students adore her, and the feeling is mutual!
Another highlight for Mrs. Sodders is the amazing team she gets to work with. From her supportive classroom aides to the dedicated administration and teachers in the building, she appreciates the encouragement and collaboration that make a difference both inside and outside the classroom.
We want to thank Mrs. Sodders for her years of dedication and care for her students. She makes a lasting impression on every student she teaches at Kenton Ridge! Whether in the classroom or the hallways, her positivity lights up everyone’s day. Mrs. Sodders always goes above and beyond, treating her students with the same care as her own children. Even after they move on, her students often return to visit, a true testament to the difference she makes.
Thank you for everything you do for our students, Mrs. Sodders. Kenton Ridge would not be the same without you, and NELSD is thankful to have you!
