This week, we are thrilled to shine a light on Northeastern High School’s Family Consumer Science educator and FCCLA advisor, Mrs. Mary Jean Gosnell. Mrs. Gosnell has spent thirty years at Northeastern and has created a classroom environment full of hard work, passion, and kindness. At the conclusion of the school year, Mrs. Gosnell will be entering a new, exciting chapter: retirement! Her classroom has been a place where students learned not just about cooking, budgeting, sewing, and family life—but also about compassion, leadership, and lifelong skills that shape who they become.

As a graduate of Ashland University, Mrs. Gosnell has brought knowledge, patience, and passion to every lesson. She has been a cornerstone of our school community, helping countless students grow into capable, thoughtful individuals both in and outside the classroom. Through her leadership with FCCLA, she empowered students to take initiative, serve others, and become leaders in their own right.

Although she is very involved at Northeastern, she cherishes her time with loved ones. She and her husband, Todd, are proud parents to a son, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Family means the world to her, and she cherishes every moment they share together.

A true creative at heart, Mrs. Gosnell loves crafting of all kinds. Whether it’s scrapbooking, making décor, or trying out a new DIY project, she finds joy in making beautiful things by hand. She also has a passion for traveling, always ready for her next adventure or new place to explore.

We have been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and work with Mrs. Gosnell for thirty years. We will miss her greatly but excited to celebrate with her as she enters this exciting new chapter of retirement. Congratulations on retirement, always know you will be a part of Jet family!
