Shining Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Sally Haemmerle

She’s humorous, intelligent, supportive, and brings a smile wherever she goes…she’s Mrs. Sally Haemmerle!

Haemmerle has been teaching at Northeastern High School since 2005, making a difference for 19 years! After obtaining a Bachelor's in English Education from Anderson University, she pursued a Master's in Education from Wright State University. Haemmerle says that she chose to come to NELSD with her “bestie” Ann Turner! When asked what her favorite part about teaching in this district is, Haemmerle stated, “There’s a sense of family. We take care of one another. That’s immeasurable!”

Haemmerle is an extremely supportive teacher and can always be seen at games and other student events. She said, “I am a passionate supporter of all things JETS! I really enjoy knowing my students as individuals and encouraging them in their pursuits and passions outside of the classroom, especially in athletics! In recent years, I have enjoyed traveling to see former students have success on the collegiate courts and fields. And several more from this year's graduating class are gearing up…SO COOL to see!” How awesome!

Aside from her stellar teaching skills, Haemmerle also has quite a few hobbies! She enjoys spending time outside, whether it’s camping, riding ATVs, or hiking. She loves animals and enjoys rescuing them. Haemmerle says she would like to rescue a donkey one day! She also loves to spend time with her family, friends, and dog, Burt Macklin. Last but certainly not least, Haemmerle is a huge University of Kentucky (UK) Wildcats fanatic and can always be seen sporting her UK gear!

We are endlessly grateful for Mrs. Haemmerle and all of the love and dedication she puts into her students. She has truly helped many grow, prosper, and become their best selves. NELSD is privileged to have amazing teachers like her!
