Shining Staff Spotlight: Staci Cox

This week's Shining Staff Spotlight feature is all about Mrs. Staci Cox! This incredible teacher has been a wonderful influence on the children she teaches. For the past 23 years, she has had an impactful impact on our NELSD community. This spotlight is long overdue for Mrs.Cox!

Cox is a 5th-grade science teacher at Kenton Ridge Elementary School. She has been a part of our NELSD school district, inspiring the children in our community for over two decades. When she spoke to us, she described her favorite thing about our community, saying, “I love the students and families that I get to connect with and follow them through their educational journey. Also, one of my favorite things is getting to have siblings and experiencing the differences in personalities and learning styles.” Personally, I would have loved to have her as a teacher!

Mrs. Cox with her family

Cox earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Classroom Teaching from Urbana University. She is a lifelong learner who enjoys both being educated and being an educator. We discovered a pattern of educators in the Cox family, including her husband, who teaches at Tecumseh Middle School. Her 11-year-old son Jaden attends Kenton Ridge and is currently in 5th grade. He participates in soccer and swimming! Her fur babies are a big part of her life, they even live in her classroom! Winston and Gus are guinea pigs in the classroom, while Archie, a chocolate lab, lives at home.

When she isn’t teaching she is spending time with her family! Traveling and being by any body of water is her type of thing. While on vacation she loves to swim and read.

Thank you for your dedication to the Kenton Ridge and NELSD community, Mrs. Cox! We are so incredibly lucky to have you educating and supporting our students.
