Robyn Callicoat

Meet Ms.Robyn Callicoat, this week’s Shining Staff Spotlight feature. Ms. Callicoat is one of our amazing intervention specialists at Kenton Ridge Middle & High School. She is described as going above and beyond for her students. She’s also said to be “the light in a dark room” by her coworkers.

With six years of experience in the NELSD district, Ms. Callicoat first worked as a Special Education Supervisor before returning to the classroom this year as an intervention specialist. To achieve this dream, she earned her Master’s Degree from Antioch University and holds an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Business and Applied Economics from The Ohio State University. Her high school experience at Upper Scioto Valley High School, where her graduating class had just 39 students, provided a unique foundation for her time at OSU, a stark contrast in size!

While education is incredibly important to Ms. Callicoat, her most cherished role is being a mom. She has three wonderful children: Aaron (24), Evan (26), and Avery (12). Avery attends the NELSD District and is an athlete, playing softball and basketball for the Jets. The Callicoat family loves spending time together, whether it’s traveling, enjoying summer camps, splashing around at the pool, or gathering around a cozy campfire. They’re also big fans of 4-H and the Clark County Fair, where all of Ms. Callicoat’s kids show pigs!

As much as she loves her family, Ms. Callicoat also knows the value of some well-deserved alone time. She’s a lover of good books, especially ones about European royalty, and you’ll often catch her singing or playing the piano. She’s also passionate about giving back to her community, volunteering with several organizations, including Agle's Eager Beavers 4-H Club, the Clark County 4-H Committee, Clark County Farm Bureau, and the Clark County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Overall, the NELSD community is extremely fortunate to have had Ms.Callicoat for the six years she has worked with our district. She has been an amazing attribute to our community. Thank you, Ms. Callicoat, for all that you do for our school community!
