Shining Student Spotlight: Annie Fincham
This week's Shining Student Spotlight shines brightly on Junior Annie Fincham. Annie is a dedicated worker who always gives her best and supports those around her. Her passion for helping others truly defines her, both on the field and off, and she's always looking out for the well-being of the people in her life. Annie believes in working hard for what she wants and never taking anything for granted.
Annie is an athlete who has earned recognition for her dedication to both sports and academics. As a talented athlete, one of her proudest moments is going to state for softball. She is also a dedicated member of volleyball, softball, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). For Annie, her faith is a guiding force, and she actively focuses on its growth, believing it strengthens her mental well-being, leading to greater happiness and improved performance in school and sports.
Annie’s advice to underclassmen is to find a group of people you fit in with and that helps you grow as a person and guides you in the right direction. This emphasis on positive connections is reflected in one of her favorite high school memories – her freshman year spent playing the entire volleyball season alongside her sister. Although she isn’t certain what she wants to pursue in college yet, she is sure she will be playing volleyball.
To Annie, Cougar Pride is more than just school spirit; it means being outgoing, lifting others up, and creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable being themselves and having fun. She believes this is crucial because high school is a fleeting experience, and everyone deserves to enjoy it with the people they care about.
Outside of school, Annie enjoys spending quality time with the people who matter most. Whether it’s playing wiffle ball and football with her cousin next door, going to Crumbl with friends, getting her nails done by Liv, or simply relaxing with a few rounds of golf and practice at the driving range. These moments spent with family and friends are incredibly important to her.
With her determination, genuine kindness, and school spirit, Annie continues to make a positive impact on those around her, and there is no doubt that she will achieve great things in the future!
