Shining Student Spotlight: Mason Shockey

Meet Mason Shockey, a 10th grader and one of Northeastern’s shining leaders, and this week’s spotlight feature! With a commitment to athletic excellence and academic achievement, Mason has proven that dedication can lead to success in multiple areas. 

Mason is a dedicated student-athlete who stays active year-round, competing on the court and field! He is a member of the Northeastern football, basketball, and track teams, as well as the Huntsman Elite Club basketball team. Known for his determination and leadership, Mason strives for success in all his sports to inspire younger students to work hard, stay focused, and embrace the importance of teamwork. His peers admire his ability to excel in both athletics with academics while serving as a role model for others.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Mason is deeply involved in extracurricular activities like Student Government, Northeastern YoungLife, and the Leo Club, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and service within his school and community. Balancing academics, sports, and extracurriculars, Mason maintains a strong work ethic while prioritizing personal growth and inspiring his peers to stay engaged and motivated. With his sights set on continuing his education after high school, Mason is proving that dedication, passion, and perseverance lead to endless possibilities. 

As he continues to balance athletics, academics, and leadership, there’s no doubt that he will achieve great things in the future. Northeastern is proud to have such a motivated and inspiring student-athlete as part of its community. Keep soaring, Mason!
