Shining Student Spotlight: Ryder B

This week, we introduce an adventurous, hard-working, and thoughtful Ryder B, a fourth grader at Kenton Ridge Elementary in our Shining Student Spotlight feature. Ryder has a passion for music, baseball, and football. With his positive attitude and determination, Ryder is sure to achieve great things in the future.

Ryder is a huge music fan. Some of his favorite bands include ACDC, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, and Nirvana. His all-time favorite song is “Back in Black” by ACDC. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing neighborhood football, and has a passion for baseball, especially when he gets to play in the outfield. The field is where he truly feels alive. If given the choice of having any superpower, he would opt for the ability to rebuild and reconstruct things with his mind, thereby restoring them to their original state. Inspired by the hard work of his aunt and uncle, who run a construction company, he aspires to become a construction worker.

Giving his all into everything is how Ryder shows his Cougar Pride. Being in fourth grade this year has brought so many new and exciting experiences for him. Ryder feels like so many doors and opportunities have opened. Math is a subject that he excels in and finds naturally easy to grasp. When asked what advice he would give to future elementary students, he shared that it's ok to feel a bit scared with all the changes, but don't worry, it's not a huge adjustment. You'll get the hang of it and like it. Just always be nice to others and they'll be nice to you.

Fourth grade has been full of exciting and rewarding memories for Ryder. His favorite school memory was a field trip to Carillon Historical Park. He was most excited to see the trains, which reminded him of his grandpa, who loves trains too. Ms. Manion, one of his favorite teachers, played a significant role in making his second-grade experience memorable and enjoyable. She highly praises him, describing him as an outstanding role model for his classmates and peers. Ryder has a great sense of humor and is always well-behaved and works hard. Ryder roars with determination, paving his way to a future filled with endless possibilities!
