Shining Student Spotlight: Stephen Roddy

Stephen Roddy truly embodies Jet Pride and has made a lasting impact on Northeastern, even as a junior! This week's Shining Student Spotlight feature highlights Stephen’s commitment to respect, accountability, acceptance, and personal growth, values he demonstrates daily. You can always find him around the school exemplifying our SOAR characteristics—showing respect, owning his actions, accepting differences, and realizing his potential. Stephen's dedication shines through his devotion to his clubs and sports. 

As a dedicated two-sport athlete, Stephen balances his athletic commitments with academic excellence. He is very driven to improve both on the field/track and in the classroom. Beyond sports, Stephen actively participates in the National Honors Society and the Spanish Club, two clubs that are dear to him and showcase his commitment to service and community. His thoughtful time management and genuine care for others are evident in his contributions to the school.

Stephen's passion for sports and helping others fuels his ambition to pursue a degree in sports medicine or athletic training and a career in sports therapy after high school. He also aspires to play football at the collegiate level. Stephen learned grit and determination during his sophomore year when he faced a season-ending injury that challenged his resolve.  “This injury tested me in my belief that better things are coming and made me appreciate the smaller things in life that we take for granted,” Steven shared, demonstrating his positive outlook and determination.

Serving as a true inspiration to his peers and teachers, Stephen always rises to the occasion, no matter how big or small the challenge. We are confident he will continue to come out on top in everything he does. He appreciates the little things in life and never takes anything for granted. We can all learn something from Stephen's character and how he represents what it truly means to be a Northeastern High School Jet. We are so proud to have Steven as part of our community and cannot wait to see what he does in the future!
