Shining Student Spotlight: Cash S.
Meet Cash S., an 8th-grade student at Kenton Ridge Middle School (KRMS) and this week’s Shining Student Spotlight feature. Cash is a great student who loves his family, friends, academics, and baseball.
Cash, an enthusiastic and dedicated baseball player for Kenton Ridge, has been deeply passionate about the sport for nine years. His love for baseball was sparked at a young age, inspired by family moments spent watching games on television. Intrigued by the strategy and excitement of the sport, he decided to pick up a glove and give it a try—a decision that has shaped his life ever since.
Throughout his baseball journey, Cash has displayed unwavering determination, exceptional skill, and a true love for the game. His hard work culminated in a remarkable achievement: being named a Perfect Game All-American. This prestigious honor is reserved for only about 650 students nationwide, with just 16 selected per state. For Cash, this recognition was not only exciting but a meaningful validation of his dedication to the sport he holds so close to his heart.
When Cash isn’t showcasing his skills on the baseball field, he’s excelling in the classroom. Known for his studious nature and vibrant personality, Cash consistently earns high marks, achieving A’s even while managing a packed schedule. His dedication to academics and extracurricular activities sets him apart as a well-rounded and determined student.
In addition to baseball, Cash is an active member of the band, where he plays percussion. He hopes to advance to playing the quints when he reaches high school—a goal fueled by his passion for music and performance. Cash’s love for band was sparked when he saw Kenton Ridge’s Marching Cougar Band in action, captivated by their energy and camaraderie. Inspired, he eagerly joined, finding yet another outlet to showcase his talent and enthusiasm.
Cash also values spending quality time with his family whenever possible. Whether it’s going on walks, enjoying meals together at their favorite restaurants, or simply sharing everyday moments, Cash finds joy in activities that bring his loved ones closer. His love for family time reflects his caring and down-to-earth nature, making every gathering special, no matter the activity.
Kenton Ridge Middle School is very fortunate to have an excellent student like Cash, who shows his Cougar Pride through his kindness, great personality, and ability to serve as an outstanding role model for others. Keep up the great work, Cash!
