Tenley C. is a 6th grader at Kenton Ridge Elementary School.  She excels in her academics and all-around character within our community… for all those reasons Tenley was recommended by her teachers to be this week’s Shining Student Spotlight!  

Even though she lives a busy life, we were able to pull her away from her studies for a quick interview… check out what she had to say!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about school?
A: My favorite thing about school is seeing my friends and teachers.  Also, I like being in the same building as my mom and my siblings!

Q: What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?
A: Outside of school I like to hang out with my friends and play volleyball!

Q: What do you like about our new school?
A: What I like about the new building is meeting my new friends from Northridge.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher you have ever had?  Why?
A: Mrs. Saunders (4th grade) is my favorite teacher because she was always there for me and very involved in my life.

Q: What do you want to be when you get older?
A: My dream is to be a general surgeon when I get older.

Q: Are you excited to start 7th grade next year or do you want to stay in 6th grade?  Why?
A: I’m excited to go into 7th grade because I am excited to be able to tryout for middle school sports.

Q: How old are you?
A: I’m 12 years old.

Q: What clubs or sports are you in?
A: I cheer for the Rolling Hills Varsity Cougars [the local youth recreation league cheer team], and I play volleyball for Game Time Gators.

Q: What are you really good at?
A: I’m really good at school (specifically math), and the sports I play.

Q: Tell me about your family (do you have siblings, pets, etc.).
A: I have 2 dogs (Howie and Dozer), a cat (Lyra), 2 sisters (Teagan and Channing), 2 brothers (Paxson and Landry), my dad and step-mom (Trent and Jess), and my mom (Lauren)!  

When she’s not studying, practicing, or hanging out with her family Tenley is busy being a well-rounded student and an incredible friend!  She’s adored by her parents, siblings, teachers, and friends… they describe her as a ray of sunshine and somebody they can always count on for help with anything they need!

Tenley embodies every characteristic of ROAR, and she could not be more deserving of being this week's Student Spotlight!  Congratulations Tenley, keep up the incredible work!
