Dear NELSD Families-
With winter weather in the forecast this week, we wanted to share some information with you about how weather-related delays and cancellations will work this year.
Snow Days/Cancellations
If there is a Snow Day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, in-person learners in Group A and Group B will not have school, whether they were scheduled to learn at home or at school.
Snow Days and delays will not be called on Wednesdays during hybrid learning, because all students are already scheduled to learn virtually together; learning will proceed as planned on Wednesdays, regardless of weather.
If a building is in full-time virtual learning when a Snow Day is called for the district, virtual learning will continue as planned for that building.
Virtual learners using the Edmentum platform will not be affected by Snow Days or cancellations.
Two-Hour Delays
Students who are scheduled to learn at school on a two-hour delay day will begin two hours later than usual.
Students in the hybrid model who are scheduled to learn at home will still complete their assigned work.
Delays will not be called on Wednesdays during hybrid learning.
If a building is in full-time virtual learning when a delay is called for the district, virtual learning will continue as planned for that building.
Virtual learners using the Edmentum platform will not be affected by Snow Days or cancellations.
Thank you,
John Kronour
Superintendent
