NEHS/MS COVID-19 Building Notification - 10/12/21

October 12, 2021

Dear Northeastern Middle and High School Families,

The Northeastern Local School District is committed to the safety and health of our students and staff. We want to inform you that we have recently received information that one individual who is part of our Northeastern Middle and High School community has tested positive for COVID-19. Northeastern Middle and High School will remain open at this time.

NOTE: This is a general notification to families and staff of Northeastern Middle and High School to make everyone aware of a confirmed positive or probable COVID-19 case. It does not mean that the person receiving the notice (or the student) needs to quarantine.

Cleaning and disinfecting protocols for the exposed locations will be followed. Due to federal privacy laws, we are not permitted to provide the names of individuals who have tested positive; however, we believe it is our responsibility to inform students and staff from our school community who may have been around this person.

Contact tracing has been completed for school and school-related activities, and families of

students identified as a close contact have been contacted. Only individuals who have been in

close contact with the person testing positive will be contacted directly and given directions on

the quarantine process.

As a reminder, it is imperative that all students, families, and staff continue to follow our health and safety protocols to stop the spread of illness in our schools:

  • Continue to check your child for COVID-19 symptoms daily: fever or chills, new uncontrolled cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, new onset of severe headache, especially with fever.

  • If anyone in your household develops symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19, they should immediately isolate and call the Clark County Combined Health District. Also, contact your medical providers.

  • If NO symptoms develop and you have not been instructed otherwise to quarantine for a different exposure, your child may continue to attend school.

  • If you have any questions, contact Northeastern Middle and High School at 937-328-6575 or the Clark County Combined Health District at 937-390-5600.

  • For answers to your COVID-19 questions, call 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634) or visit coronavirus.ohio.gov. Resources from the CDC include:

The health and safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to closely follow our reopening plan and all health guidelines and communicate quickly with our families about any concerns.
