SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, August 16, 2021—The Northeastern Local School District (NELSD) welcomes Steffanie Stratton as communications representative for the district. The NELSD Board of Education approved her hiring on August 13, 2021.
Stratton, who begins her new position today, Monday, August 16, will be responsible for enhancing the district’s communications with community groups and organizations by developing a school district newsletter, maintaining social media channels, writing news releases and news stories for the website, and more.
“We are excited to have someone with Steffanie’s diverse experience joining the NELSD team as our communications representative,” said Superintendent John Kronour. “In the past, we have worked with the Clark County Educational Service Center for our communications needs, sharing our communications coordinator with other districts. This newly created position allows the district to have a dedicated person enabling us to broaden our communications to families and the community.”
Most recently, Stratton served as executive assistant to the superintendent and communications director at Yellow Springs Exempted Village School District (YSEVSD). Prior to YSEVSD, she worked at Best Restaurant Equipment and Design, Wildflower Boutique, echoingU and Antioch College. Additionally, she served her community as a yoga instructor at House of AUM and The Yoga Loft Dayton.
Prior to moving to Ohio, she spent over eight years of her career in New York City growing in the fast-paced and dynamic work environments of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), CNBC, and Autism Speaks, where she held communications and public relations positions.
Stratton holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee. She resides in Yellow Springs with her husband, local playwright and Bellefontaine native, Kane Stratton.
