Today's #ShiningStaffSpotlight – Lori Saunders, Fourth Grade Teacher for NELSD.
Mrs. Saunders is a 1979 graduate of Kenton Ridge High School (the second class to graduate from KRHS!) and is in her thirty-ninth year with the district as a fourth grade teacher at Rolling Hills Elementary.
When she’s not teaching fourth-graders, Mrs. Saunders enjoys spending time with her husband Larry, daughter Megan, son-in-law Tyler, and their three Goldendoodles Murphy, Modelo, and Allie. Being an educator runs in the Saunders family as Larry and Megan are both Spanish teachers. Murphy, Modelo, and Allie are all Best Friends Therapy Dogs and can also be found in the classroom. She also enjoys shopping, traveling, watching volleyball games, and working out. We hear she is also dynamite at sudoku and candy crush!
Mrs. Saunders is a graduate of Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
When asked what she loves most about working at NELSD, Mrs. Saunders said, “NELSD is home for me! I am acquainted with many current and former students, teachers, and colleagues. I enjoyed coaching volleyball for the Cougars. My teams shared many fabulous memories throughout the years.”
Thank you, Mrs. Saunders, for your commitment to the students and staff of NELSD.
