I am a 2009 graduate from Northwestern High School and was born and raised in the Springfield area. I further pursued postsecondary education at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, OH where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree as a K-12 Intervention Specialist in May of 2014. During my time in high school and college I worked for companies in the Springfield and Cincinnati area providing care to mentally and physically handicapped adults in both in-home and day center settings. It was through these experiences that I discovered my passion in the field of Special Education. This is my second year teaching and I am very excited to continue my educational career at Northeastern.

A passion of mine is the sport of soccer. I played soccer throughout grade and high school and then four years at the College of Mount St. Joseph. I also played football, basketball, and ran track competitively in grade school, but ultimately pursued soccer. Soccer has been a wonderful outlet for me and taken me many places and continues to do so. I was fortunate enough this past year to be given the opportunity to help coach the girl’s soccer team alongside coach Ranard. It has been a very great experience, and I hope that it is the beginning of a successful coaching career here at Northeastern.

I live the Springfield area with my fiance’, Briana, and my dog, Beckham. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and watching and playing sports. I play indoor soccer at Sportsplex throughout the year, play sand volleyball at Scene 75 in the warmer months, and also enjoy playing basketball for recreation. In addition to playing sports I enjoy watching them as well. If anyone wants to talk about any sports, I am all ears. Thank you for the wonderful first year and GO JETS!

I am one of the Intervention Specialists at Northeastern High School. I grew up and graduated from the neighboring town of Mechanicsburg. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Wittenberg University and my Master’s Degree from Regis University. I have a very colorful teaching background, which includes: 1 year in England, 2 years at London Middle School, and 12 years in Colorado. I have worked with all ages, from grade K to grade 12, and have enjoyed the unique experiences that each age group brings. I am very excited to be a part of the Northeastern community and have felt welcomed by everyone. A few fun facts about me are: I am blessed with an amazing daughter, I have been to 5 of the 7 continents, and (when I was in shape) I completed a half iron man.

I am a graduate of Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio and grew up near the small town of Springhills. I have an Associate of Science in Graphic Art Design from Clark State Community College. Before pursuing my teaching license, I was a classroom aide for a class of K-3 students with intensive special needs for 6 years. I was able to graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in the Spring of 1998 in a Mild–Moderate certificate in Intervention Specialist. Within a week of graduating from Urbana University, I accepted the position at Kenton Ridge High School for the Transition and Vocational Resource Intervention Specialist. I am now in my second year of teaching here at Northeastern High School.

I have been married to Andy for 8 years, this December. We have three children, AJ, Amelia and Alivia. We keep ourselves busy with different activities, including farming, 4-H, our family, camping and life.
