Kindergarten Information

KRA Screening Dates: Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22, 2023
- Principals will send out more information regarding the KRA Screening appointments.
Staggered Start: Parents will bring their students in at 8:30 a.m. Parents will stay with their students from 8:30-9:30 a.m. for a parent meeting. Students will stay for the remainder of the day.
August 29th: Last names A-K
August 30th: Last names L-Z
All kindergarten students will begin attending full-time starting, Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Bus routes have been posted and are available on our Transportation page and are also available in our ParentSquare App by clicking > More > Links. Route times are estimates. We kindly ask that students be outside at the stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Please note that routes will be updated as new riders are added.

Food Services

Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits. Free/Reduced Meal Applications can be submitted via the online system PaySchools Central. Click here to access the PaySchool Central Parent User Guide or here for the Shortened PaySchool Central How-to-Guide. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. Please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National School Lunch webpage for additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program.

For the 2023-24 school year, the price of reduced and paid lunches will be as follows:

District & School Communications

ParentSquare

The NELSD is introducing a new method of communication between schools and homes called ParentSquare. This unified platform aims to keep parents and guardians updated while promoting better engagement and connection. Families will receive further information, so please ensure that you have updated your student's FinalForms account.

All district and school, grade level and classroom information will now be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).
